Sydney Gayton MOT, OTR/L, CST

Occupational Therapist & Dyslexia Specialist

Sydney Jean Gayton, MOT, OTR/L, CST is an Occupational Therapist specializing in Myofascial Release (MFR) and CranioSacral Therapy (CST).

She provides gentle, non-invasive treatments that address the nervous system, fascia, and cerebrospinal fluid flow to help reduce tension, improve mobility, and support the body’s shift into a relaxed (parasympathetic) state.

Her approach benefits people of all ages, including those dealing with headaches/migraines, anxiety/stress, TMJ, chronic pain, scar tissue, sensory issues, digestion and sleep challenges, and infant concerns such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, or feeding difficulties related to tongue ties. As an OT, she brings specialized knowledge of neurobiology and is equipped to work with clients who have complex physical, cognitive, or emotional needs.

Dyslexia Support & Left/Right Integration

Sydney provides dyslexia services focused on reading, spelling, and handwriting, using an Orton-Gillingham approach through the Barton reading and spelling system. As an occupational therapist, she also assesses and addresses fine and visual motor skills, primitive reflexes, and ADHD-like challenges such as auditory processing and executive function difficulties.

She understands the emotional impact these struggles have on children and families and offers regulation strategies for the whole family unit.

Myofascial release and craniosacral therapy may be used alongside literacy work to support focus, posture, and a calmer foundation for learning.

Infant Tongue Tie Support

Sydney evaluates and treats oral restrictions that interfere with latch, suck-swallow-breathe coordination, and comfort at the breast or bottle. Gentle myofascial and craniosacral techniques release tension in the tongue, floor of mouth, jaw, and neck so feeding can become more efficient and less painful for both infant and parent. Sessions also address related issues such as colic, reflux-like symptoms, and difficulty regulating after feeds. Care is collaborative and can be coordinated with lactation support.

Myofascial Release & CranioSacral Therapy

Sydney combines myofascial release and craniosacral therapy to unwind restrictions in fascia and the craniosacral system using gentle, sustained touch. This integrated approach is available for infants, children, and adults. She treats children and adults with headaches, jaw tightness, posture issues, anxiety, limited mobility, and lingering patterns of tension. Sessions help the body shift into a calmer parasympathetic state so nursing, digestion, sleep, movement, comfort, and focus can improve. Care is individualized and often used as a foundation alongside other therapies, including tongue-tie support and developmental work.
